Captain Marvel Review

Captain Marvel introduces the character of Vers, also known as Carol Danvers to the MCU and tells the origin story of Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel is an entertaining movie from start to finish which starts slow but finishes on a high. It has a good script, however it does feel as though there are not too many wow moments in the movie as in some other superhero movies like Wonder Woman and Avengers Infinity War. Thus even though the movie entertains you, no particular scene sticks with you after the movie ends. Better direction and editing job could have done this for the movie. Due to this it falls short of greatness.  The movie has a small premise like that of a treasure hunt movie but has been able to build a solid storyline, with the hero trying to find out who she is while fighting the bad guys. The movie in its Imax format has superb visuals and vfx majorly in its opening half an hour that leave you spellbound.

Brie Larson is good as Carol Danvers trying to discover who she really is, while Samuel L. Jackson as Fury is both good in a rather funny avatar unlike the other MCU movies. Jude Law is ok in his role and so are all the other actors.

Anna Boden and Ryan Affleck have done a good job at bringing the Kree-Skrull universe into the MCU. However as already pointed out, they have been unable to bring out wow moments in the movie. Let us see what they can do with furthering this franchise.

Overall this is a perfect superhero movie for all the MCU fans and whoever wants to watch Avengers Endgame should go and watch this movie.
