How Spiderman's Character Arc will Progress in the next two Spiderman Movies

With Spiderman featuring in 4 MCU movies till date and his second solo outing being just more than a month away, I am trying to look at how the character arc of Spiderman has moved up until now and also trying to predict how the character arc will proceed in the next two movies.

Spiderman was introduced into the MCU with Captain America: Civil War where he had a small role and then he got his own solo movie, Spiderman: Homecoming. This was follwed by team up movies, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The Spiderman introduced in these movies was young and very eager to do something good by using his abilities. He also saw Iron Man as his mentor and always wanted to impress him. But now with Iron Man gone at the end of Avengers: Endgame, how is his story arc going to move forward? Here I have tried to present my view of how his character arc moves forward.

We know from the trailers of Spiderman: Far From Home that Nick Fury is going to introduce Mysterio to Spiderman and from the looks of it, Spiderman who has just lost his mentor will start looking upto Mysterio as his new mentor. But anyone who has knowledge of the comics world will know that Mysterio is a major Spiderman villain. So there is no doubt in my mind that Mysterio will be the real villain in Far From Home. And with that reveal, Spiderman would have lost his second mentor and by the end of the movie would be having difficulty with trusting other superheros and teaming up with them. This would act as the main character theme for Spiderman in his last solo movie, which is yet to be announced. 

In the final Spiderman movie, Peter Parker will have to come to terms with trusting other superheros and he may also become a mentor to some younger superhero. Now this is a possibility because we have been hearing news of a movie about young Avengers. There is no confirmation of it, but no one has denied it yet. 

Thus this is how Spiderman's character arc moves in MCU. First he has a mentor. Then he loses his mentor. Soon after he looks upto another mentor who betrays him. He loses trust with others and does not believe in team ups. Then a younger superhero restores faith in other superheros and he becomes a mentor. This would be a fitting character arc for Peter Parker. 

Now this is what I feel can be the Spiderman's character arc in the next two movies. I may turn out to be completely wrong once Far From Home releases in a little more than a month. Or maybe I am right.
